SOLVED: Did something happen to CSS EMMET that I miss?

Browser: Any
OS: Windows

Previously, I would write CSS blazing fast using EMMET like “aic” for align-items: center, “df” for display: flex and so on but now that appears to have been gone. I have to write almost half the property to filter down followed by selecting from that list of suggestions.

Bricks’ development is moving really fast, I may have missed some setting so please inform me if the old EMMET can be enabled from somewhere.

Also, allowing var() to automatically encapsulate an auto-completed CSS variable in custom CSS section would be super-cool.

Thanks

Missing EMMET:

Have to manually write var() around the auto-completed variable value:

Hi @khan360,

Thanks for reporting this. I reproduced the emmet abbreviation issue in Bricks 2.4.2 and have added this to our internal bug tracker.

Thanks a lot for the update, @charaf

We’ve addressed this in Bricks 2.4.3, now available as a one-click update in your WordPress Dashboard.

This update restores Emmet abbreviation expansion. Automatically wrapping CSS variables in var() is a separate request.

Please read the changelog entry before updating, and let us know if you experience any issues.

@charaf I don’t think it’s quite working for me yet. I updated the theme to 2.4.3 and yet I cant autocomplete CSS with EMMET

I tested the Code element’s and elements CSS editor in Bricks 2.4.3, and aic and df expand correctly when pressing Tab.

Please reload the builder with Ctrl+F5, type aic on a new line inside .class { ... }, and press Tab. Does it expand to align-items: center;, insert a suggestion, or only indent? If it still fails, please tell us which browser you used for this test.

Thanks. This works.

Turns out, I was expecting auto-complete suggestions like it used to show. But, I can live without it.
