So I just bought Bricks. Happy to support this new builder.
One question: I created a custom Theme Styles under Settings and put in all my colors and saved.
When I try to use my custom styles in Elements I can only chose the “Default” color palette. My custom one (or any other) does not appear in the drop down menu. Am I missing something?
I am using the 1.2 version.
Bricks Version: 1.2 Browser: Chrome 91.0.4472.77 OS: Windows 10 URL: (a link to a page that illustrates the issue would be really helpful)
[Please describe in as much detail as possible how we can replicate this bug]
I was expecting the custom palette to be used by default rather than having to select it, and only use the actual Element settings to override the Custom palette. But it doesn’t do that nor allow you to choose the custom palette. As Siggi mentions it only lists the default palete as available in the drop down.
If I go back to the Theme Settings I can choose my new palette but the customisation I made to the Button Element has reverted to the default values. So I don’t think the saving of the Palettes/themes is working correctly.
Tested by setting a custom button colour, font, border, shadow saved as MyPalette. But when adding a button on a new page I just get the old default button settings.
On the Theme Styles > Colors you define colors which you are able to use quickly on the following elements: Button, Form, Heading, Post Author, Post Comments, Post Taxonomy, Post Title, Pricing Tables, Slider and Text.
The Theme Styles > Colors are not the same as creating a custom color palette. A color palette is created on the color control (check the following screenshot, the “My New Palette” is a custom color palette). You may create as many as you’d like of these palettes, you may export, import, add/remove colors, rename colors, etc… These color palettes are global and may be used in any color control (background, text color, overlay and so on). By global, I mean that if you use a color from your custom color palette on different elements, and at some point, you change the color code (RGB/HEX…), it will update all the elements that are using that specific color.
If you define the colors in the Theme Styles > Element - button, and the Theme Style is active, those colors do apply to the button element. If this is not the case, could you please send me an email (help@bricksbuilder.io) if possible with login credentials to access your WP dashboard, so I can investigate it for you.
Many thanks!
I expect that a custom palette could be used everywhere. In general, I prefer to use color palettes from the service https://create.vista.com/colors/palettes/nude-color-palette/ . There are a huge number of them, they are all high-quality and cool. Might be useful for you too
