SOLVED: Content jumps when popup opens (scrollbar)

Bricks Version: 1.6.1
Browser: Chrome
OS: Windows

Hi bricks team.

When the pop-up is opened, the content of the page will shake a little. This conveys a negative feeling to users. The reason for this problem is that when the popup is opened, the browser’s scrollbar is hidden. When the popup is closed, the scrollbar will appear. The same thing causes the content of the pop-up page to shake when it opens and closes.

To solve this issue, it is better not to hide the browser’s scrollbar when the popup opens.

I second that. We need to think of something here. I wouldn’t hide the scroll bar when the window opens either.

Hi Hosein,
Thanks so much for your report!

No shaking with my popups
Can you show me the problem with a URL or a video?

Best regards,
timmse

Hi @timmse

In the video below, pay attention to the scroll bar and page content when the pop-up opens and closes. When the popup is displayed, the browser’s scroll bar is removed, which causes the page content to jiggle as the page opens and closes.

Hey Hosein,
It seems to be a Windows problem - with macOS + Chrome, there is no scrollbar :ninja:

I’ve added it to the bug tracker.

Could this be somehow related to my problem with the fixed header and the scrollbar on Windows? it sounds very similar.

Cheers

Patric

Hey Patric, these are different problems :ninja:

Hi Hosein,
We’ve added a toggle to Bricks 1.7.1 to enable/disable the body scroll, which is now available as a one-click update in your WordPress Dashboard.

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

Best regards,
timmse
