SOLVED: Component Button 'Select' control - Text Not Updating in Builder

I have a component, within that component is a Button.

I have a ‘Select’ control linked to the button text (dropdown of options)

It works, but when viewing in the builder, the text doesn’t update when different options are selected. Shows fine on the front end.

Tried reloading the canvas but still doesn’t show.

Switched to a ‘text’ control and the issue is the same, doesn’t seem limited to the ‘Select’ control.

Any idea when this might be patched?

Hi @Codebee,

I’m sorry that I forgot to answer this one. As you can see, I’ve only changed the prefix to WIP, which means that I was able to identify the issue and I’ve recorded it in our internal bug tracker.

One thing I noticed is that I could only replicate the issue with your component. If I created new one, or even unlined and linked back, it was working, so maybe you could try that.

I also noticed that it was working as soon as I moved the button out of the wrapper element - maybe you can try that as well, and maybe try adding the wrapper back on.

Thanks for the suggestion, creating a new wrapper element and re-adding it inside seems to have fixed it. How strange.

I’m glad to hear that! Well, apparently there is something wrong with your original component. At least we have something to test with and can replicate it :slight_smile:

We fixed this issue in Bricks 2.2 RC2, now available as a manual download in your account (see changelog).

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

As with any pre-stable release, please do not use it on a production website. It is intended for testing in a local or staging environment only.
