SOLVED: Code inside components not rendering

Browser: Chrome 110
OS: macOS / Windows / Linux / etc.
Video: Jam

I have some components which contain various custom code elements. In 2.1 beta, these aren’t rendering in the browser at all, and code signing seems to be temperamental.

Copying the same elements out of the component straight into the Builder fixes the problem and the code elements are rendered normally.

When the markup is added inside a “basic text” element, it partially renders but is broken due to backslashes () escaping the HTML, so it seems this could be related or the underlying cause.

Hi ben,
Thanks so much for your report!

I can replicate the problem and have added it to the internal bug tracker. We will update this thread as soon as it is fixed.

Best regards,
timmse

Hi @Dawson,

We fixed this issue in Bricks 2.1.1 (Hotfix), now available as a one-click update in your WordPress Dashboard.

If you’ve encountered any added backslashes inside your components, please update to 2.1.1, edit the affected components, remove any unwanted backslashes, and save the builder.

Please take a moment to read the changelog entries before updating:

You can also review the 2.1 changelogs to see all previous changes:

Let us know if you continue to experience any issues.

Best regards,
Matej
