SOLVED: cart and checkout presets show each fee twice — an unlabeled {woo_cart_applied_fee_total_amount} row next to the fees loop

Browser: Chrome 152
OS: macOS

Hi guys! A small one from the native cart/checkout presets that I’ve had to fix by hand on every store with a payment fee (cash on delivery).

Environment: Bricks 2.4.4, WooCommerce 11.2.1, WordPress 7.1.3. Cart and checkout built from the Bricks WooCommerce presets.

What the customer sees

With one fee in the cart (e.g. a 990 Ft COD fee), the order summary shows:

Cash on delivery fee 990 Ft
                          990 Ft

Where it comes from

In the 2.4.4 preset files, the fees block (the div with the {query_results_count:<fees loop>} > 0 condition) has two children:

  • the wooCartFees loop block, with one label + amount row per fee, which is correct;
  • a sibling div > text-basic with {woo_cart_applied_fee_total_amount} and no label.

Files: includes/woocommerce/presets/cart/state-cart/complete-cart-block.json (loop 410623, sibling 984ac9) and includes/woocommerce/presets/checkout/state-checkout/order-summary.json (loop 56c590, sibling c1c209).

So every fee appears once with its label and again as an unlabeled total underneath. With one fee it reads as a duplicate. With several fees it reads as an unexplained extra number.

Suggestion

Remove the sibling row from both presets. Or, if a fee total is intended, give it a label (“Fees total”) and show it only when there’s more than one fee.

Thanks for the detailed report. We reproduced the extra unlabeled fee total in both presets. We’ll get back to you as soon as the problem is resolved.

We’ve addressed this in Bricks 2.4.5, now available as a one-click update in your WordPress Dashboard.

The fees subtotal now appears only when the cart has more than one fee. Cart and checkout pages already built from an earlier preset keep their current layout until you insert the updated preset again.

Please read the changelog entry before updating, and let us know if you experience any issues.
