SOLVED: Can no longer copy and paste classes

In previous versions, one used to be able copy applied classes from one element to another. That is:

  1. Select an element in the structure panel that has at least one class applied to it.
  2. Right-click, and choose Copy (Styles)
  3. Select a different element.
  4. Right-click and choose Paste (Styles).

Before, the target element would then have all the same classes applied to it as the source element.

Was this purposely removed in v.1.11.1.1 for some reason, or is it a bug?

Hi @ainom,

yep, in the latest version, it does not copy-paste classes, this is true. We will add the option to copy-paste classes in the next version and will update this topic once we release it.

Best regards,
Matej

Why in the world would a feature be suddenly removed, especially one so important to efficient workflow as this?? This is a rhetorical question, I’m sure there’s a reason for it.

Yeah, actually good question, that I don’t have a good answer to it

We reworked a little bit how copy-paste styling works in the last updates - hence those new icons, and either we forgot to implement it back or more possibly, we were planning the copy class feature, but it didn’t make in the previous releases, so we released that without. It was not me who was working on this, so I’m not 100% sure.

Either way, it’s coming back soon.

Hi @ainom ,

We’ve implemented this in Bricks 1.12 BETA, now available as a manual download (Bricks – Account)

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

You can see the full changelog here: Bricks 1.12 Changelog – Bricks

As with any beta release, please do not use it on a production/live website. It is only meant for testing in a local or staging environment.

Best regards,
Matej
