SOLVED: Bug with the Product Gallery element

Couldn’t find these answers in the documentation (academy).

  1. Clicking the large image opens the image on a new page (terrible UX). How do I make it instead open in a lightbox, keeping the user on the same page?

  2. How do I show the image’s caption along with the image?

The image element works great, allowing the image to link to a lightbox and the caption to appear, but it doesn’t work for products, at least not products with variations or multiple images.

I would have thought the product gallery element would mimic the controls of the regular image element out of the box.

I’d be happy with a PHP snippet for now.

Hi Eric,

the images are opened inside of a lightbox in my case and there is a caption as well

OK that’s great to know it’s possible (although I do note that the product in your example is not a variable product), now I just have to figure out why it’s not working for me.

There are no console errors, and it still doesn’t work with all plugins deactivated (except Woocommerce of course)

Here’s a product page showing the issue: T-Shirt – Lazy Picasso – Zoëoz

If you contact me via email I can send admin credentials so you can see the back end if needed.

I still haven’t figured this one out. I’ve ruled out a conflict with another plugin, so it’s isolated to Bricks.

Please contact me via email I can provide admin credentials, or if there’s something else I can do to troubleshoot, let me know…please help!

Current example of issue: Peacemaker – Zoëoz
