Another person complained about it 2 years ago and it was classified as a no-bug… REALLY? Not a bug? Is that how renaming should work? If so, I have never seen it implemented like that anywhere ever.
Cmon guys… We use this everyday. Please fix it. It can’t be that hard to implement proper renaming. It’s a fundamental thing.
You’d be best adding as a feature request, as it’s not a bug.
(It looks like that is what happened last time, it was reported as bug and so dismissed as ‘no bug’)
I would change to feature request, or add to ideas board, to bring attention to it, otherwise these ideas get lost and so wouldn’t be considered.
I’m not calling the fixing of a half-baked feature a “feature request”.
If that’s the reason it gets lost so be it.
I will not consider this a bug, because you can still rename the element.
But like it was answered in the topic you linked, it would be a good quality of life improvement, so I’ve created an improvement task for it. Once we implement this, we will update thsis topis.
Like @wplit mentioned, the Feature Requests / Improvements category is also for improvements like this one, not only feature requests, so I’m moving it there.

I guess I’m starting to get a feel for what you guys consider bugs.
I’ll make your life easier and adjust how I report them.
But I hope you’ll still read and consider them as Feature Requests/Improvements.

Yes, this is a must improve feature.
Please consider - when stepping to next element with TAB key to change more than one element - to be able to write immediately. Right now it’s selected but it can’t be changed, we have to select it again.
I’ve mentioned this in the task as well now.
