SOLVED: Bricks won't run when WP-Optimize's Minify is enabled

Bricks Version: 1.5.5
Browser: Chrome 106.0.5249.119
OS: Linux Mint 21
URL: https://kamm.brandartery.com/, https://projact.asb-hessen.de

When enabling the Minify feature of the WP-Optimize plugin, Bricks won’t load. After 1-2 minutes with a “busy” icon in Chrome’s tab bar, there’s a 500 error.

Oh, forgot to add: as a workaround, go to WP-Optimize > Minify > Settings > Disable for logged-in users.

Here’s the console output.

Oddly enough, when setting “Disable Minify for logged-in users” on projact.asb-hessen.de, the builder still won’t load. When clicking on “Edit with bricks”, the entire page immediately turns white (the the WP admin bar remains visible).

Hi Matt,
Thanks so much for your report!

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the issue. With minify enabled the builder loads perfectly fine on my end.

I would first deactivate all other plugins and test again - maybe this has nothing to do with Bricks itself, but with the JS of another plugin.

Best regards,
timmse

Cripes, you were right. Should have thought of this myself!

When disabling the plugin, Complianz, then the builder runs even with WP-Optimize’s Minify enabled.

Thanks!
Matt.

Hello Matt,

If you use Cloudflare on your installs, I would offload all your minification to Cloudflare as it is not done on your server like the majority of caching plugins such as WP Rocket, so it saves a little on resources. That being said, I am not familiar with WP-Optimize and how they do their caching.

But using Cloudflare for the minification should also overcome the conflict you are experiencing as well. :+1:

Thanks! Yeah, I’ve been meaning to look into Cloudflare. I appreciate the pointers
