SOLVED: Bricks Colors - Picker not set to selected color and sluggish

The color pickers in Bricks Colors do not have the values of the swatch you click on. Changing teh color is very sluggish.

I installed a new WP with just Bricks anand it does the same.

Hey @alanblair,

If I understand this part correctly, the issue is that when you open the color picker, and let’s say you choose RGB, the value that will be entered inside the control, will not be RGB, but HSL?

If that’s the case, we are aware of this. Currently, while you can enter colors in different formats, they will all be outputted as hsl. If you want to use another color format, you will have to enter it manually.
We could look into changing this, if there is enough demand. But please let me know what you mean specifically.

Then we get to the second part, where you said:

Can you elaborate on this? I’m not sure I understand exactly what you mean or how to replicate this issue?

Thank you,
Matej

Easier to explain visually.

Hey @alanblair,

aha, now I get it. Thanks for the video. I can replicate the first issue, but not the second one - at least not as extreme as you see on the video.

I’ve asked my colleagues to test this as well and will let you know if we can replicate it.

Thank you,
Matej

It may me that for the three colors I added, I enabled dark mode, all the variants and all teh global classes. Perhaps it struggles with that??

Hey @alanblair,

short update. My colleagues were able to replicate the issue with “sluggish” color updates - it looks like if you enable dark mode and all shades, then it works slower.

I’ve created an internal task for this as well.

Thank you,
Matej

We fixed this issue in Bricks 2.2 RC2, now available as a manual download in your account (see changelog).

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

As with any pre-stable release, please do not use it on a production website. It is intended for testing in a local or staging environment only.
