SOLVED: Bricks Builder Slider Links Not Working with WPML

Hello,

I would like to report a bug regarding the Slider widget in Bricks Builder when used with WPML.

On the website https://valchisone.com, in the Home Page, the slider links work correctly in the main language (italian), but in translated versions (other languages), the links are not clickable. Even though the translation of the link is provided, the link remains empty in the frontend.

This issue can be reproduced on the homepage.

Could you please check this? Version Bricks 2.0.1

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,
Davide

Hi Davide,
Thanks so much for your report!

We have already received a report on this by email. These are the replication steps - let me know if this is also the case for you.

Replication steps:

  1. Open the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) and translate a page containing a button with an anchor in the ā€˜Custom URL’ (e.g., #myanchor).
  2. ā€œTranslateā€ the anchor (e.g., by keeping the original anchor name #myanchor).
  3. Save the translation and leave the ATE.
  4. Make additional changes on the default language page in the builder and save the page.
  5. Re-open the ATE to translate the page again.
  6. Notice that the anchor link is now empty, and the previously entered value has been deleted.

Hi Timmse,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve checked the replication steps you mentioned, but in my case the issue is slightly different.

On valchisone.com, the problem occurs with the Slider widget links (not anchors). I can see the custom URL strings inside the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) and I translate them normally. However, even after saving, when I visit the translated page, the link output remains empty in the frontend.

So the issue for me is not related to anchors being deleted after re-opening ATE, but rather that custom links in the Slider widget do not render at all in translated languages, even though they are properly set and saved in ATE.

Please let me know if you need me to share screenshots or a step-by-step replication based on my site.

Best regards,
Davide

Hi @soodesign,

Yes please share a screenshot of how the link is set up in the builder.

Please see the video in action

I also tried to completely change the URLs with new ones… in ATE they are visible, I can update them… but the frontend problem remains

Hi @charaf

Any news for ths bug?

It’s been 17 days since I reported a clear bug… is it possible that it’s so difficult to get a response? @charaf @timmse

Hi @soodesign,

Thank you for the video, and I apologize for the late update. We’re able to replicate the bug locally and have added this to our internal bug tracker. In the meantime, you may edit the translated page manually using Bricks and update the Custom URL. The downside to keep in mind is that these changes would be lost the next time you re-translate the page.

We fixed this issue in Bricks 2.2 RC, now available as a manual download in your account (see changelog).

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

As with any pre-stable release, please do not use it on a production website. It is intended for testing in a local or staging environment only.
