SOLVED: Bricks Builder No Longer Load when Flying Images Plugin Is Active

This issue did not occur in Bricks version 1.8.4. It is new to 1.8.5.

When launching the Bricks editor for a page that has an existing Bricks Image element, the editor will open to a white screen. There is no preceding Bricks splash/loading screen. Bricks is not useable.

When launching the Bricks editor for a page that does not have an existing Bricks Image element, the editor will open. However, it it not possible to upload an image to WordPress via the Bricks image element while Flying Images is active.

When Flying Images is disabled, all Bricks capabilities are restored.

Browser: Chrome 110
OS: macOS / Windows / Linux / etc.

Could you please provide a temp admin access (with Theme Editor right) and send to help@bricksbuilder.io

We have a similar issue which is related to webp express plugin (WIP: Loading Issue After Updating Bricks Builder from Version 1.8.4 to 1.8.5 - #2 by charaf)

I would like to check if our fix can tackle your issue or not.

Hi @bret ,

We have replicate the issue locally.

Unfortunately, the Flying images plugin doesn’t provide a proper hook for us to stop executing it’s logic inside Bricks builder mode.

We will get in touch with the plugin author to see if any possible solution.

For the time being, you might need to deactivate this plugin.

Thanks for your reply. I disabled the plugin. The Flying Images dev is reputable. I’m optimistic that he’ll accommodate. If you need access to a temporary environment to test, please let me know.

They replied will be fixing the issue from their plugin in the coming release :slight_smile:
