SOLVED: Active Class DIV Width Causing Overflow within Editor

Browser: Firefox 123.0
OS: macOS

Issue only happens in Firefox (tested in Chrome and this issue does not seem to happen). Setting a hard value to the div instead of auto can fix the issue, but otherwise there is a major overflow.

Hi Hunter,
Welcome to the forum and thanks so much for your report!

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the issue using the latest version (1.9.6.1). I see that you specified 1.7.3 above - did you just make a mistake, or are you actually using a very old version?

Best regards,
timmse

Sorry I overlooked the version. The issue is happening on 1.9.6.1

As I said, I cannot replicate the issue. Please deactivate your plugins and custom code and check if the problem persists. If it does, would you be so kind as to send temporary login credentials and a link to this thread to help@bricksbuilder.io using the email address you used during the purchase?

I have the same problem on Firefox.

It only happened for me after I swiped too much to the right side of an input field for a text element that I scrolled out the builder. Then on page refresh, it’s mostly fixed except for the id/class input. This still overflows, causing the edit class en other quick actions to become invisible.

Here, you can see what I mean.
Problem only happened for me after I did this.

Hi Hendrik,
Thanks so much for the video, but I’m still unable to replicate it (MacOS, Firefox 123 or 123.0.1)

Does the problem also occur with deactivated plugins and deactivated browser extensions / in an incognito tab?

I would almost bet money that I could not reproduce the problem in your installation either, but we can give it a try: Would you be so kind as to send temporary login credentials and a link to this thread to help@bricksbuilder.io using the email address you used during the purchase?

With no plugins, extensions, the issue still persists. The width is being set to auto within the builder.min.css, and the specific selector is #bricks-panel-element-classes .active-class input

Overriding the width to 100% fixes the issue.

This is a local installation on local by flywheel. The only plugin I have on it is my own plugin, that I disabled. As you can see in the screenshots. However, I also have this problem on client websites. It’s fine in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. Just Firefox has this problem. It’s also a recent problem, because I only got this problem this week. Previous week, all was fine. I also tried incognito and it still happens.

*Edit:
I asked a friend of mine to log in and see if he has the same problem. He also has the problem on Firefox. Then I asked him to try it on Edge, and it works on Edge for him.

Hey guys,
I believe you, but as long as I can’t reproduce it, we can’t fix it. That’s why I’m asking you both again to provide me with an installation in which I can reproduce the problem

@Hendrik @HyperHunter

Sorry for not doing it earlier, didn’t have a lot of time. Send you the email.

Thanks so much for the login credentials! I was able to replicate it on your site, but the problem seems to be already fixed in our dev version. In other words, it will be 99.999% fixed in the next Bricks version.

I’m already marking this thread as solved. Please let me know if the problem is still present in Bricks 1.9.7, which is expected to be released soon.
