SOLVED: Accessibility issues with the video element

The video player is not keyboard accessible when using the overlay and custom icon. Additionally there is no way to add a captions file (track) to videos. This needs to be resolved.

Hi,
Thanks so much for your report!

I reproduced the accessibility issue and added it to our bug tracker.

As for the video captions: Please add this as an idea on the idea board, since it’s not a bug, but a feature request.

Best regards,
timmse

Hi guys,

We’ve improved this in Bricks 1.11 BETA, now available as a manual download (Bricks – Account)

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

You can see the full changelog here: Bricks 1.11 Changelog – Bricks

As with any beta release, please do not use it on a production/live website. It is only meant for testing in a local or staging environment.

Best regards,
Matej

The overlay icon still does not gain focus to trigger the video and there is still no way to add a captions file (srt, vtt, etc.). There must be a option, or this is unusable or non-YouTube or Vimeo files. Ideally, it will support multiple tracks for different languages. Avada does it right if you want a reference.

Hi @stphnwlkr,

About this. This should be available, I just tested it and it should work exactly like in the Avada theme you linked. Do you have a website online where I can see a problem or a way to reproduce it?

Thanks,
Matej
