SOLVED: 1.8 menu builder - active typography & child pages

Browser: Chrome 110
OS: macOS / Windows / Linux / etc.
URL: Link to a page that illustrates this issue
Video: Short screen recording that illustrates this issue (free tools: birdeatsbug.com or jam.dev)

So within the menu builder in 1.8beta, the active typography doesn’t apply when going to a child page of the inital page. So it works if it links to something like example.com/page but not with example.com/page/child-page.

@timmse is this a known bug?

Hi Jacob,
Thanks so much for your report!

If you mean the dropdown element that is built like this

Parent Page
 - Child Page
 - Child Page 2

and you click on e.g. “Child Page”, you’d expect that the Parent Page gets highlighted (as active) as well, right?

Best regards,
timmse

I think we are on the same page, but just for clarification:

As you can see here, the nav link “Account” links the the “customer dashboard” url, which highlights the “Account” link.

But when going to a child page of the “customer dashboard” it doesn’t highlight “Account” anymore. See here:

Hope that clarifies it

Hey,
Yes, basically the point is that the Current Page Ancestor is also highlighted. No matter where it is (dropdown or not).

I’ve added it to the bug tracker.

Hi Jacob,

We’ve fixed this issue in Bricks 1.8 beta 2, now available as a manual download in your account.

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

As with any beta release, please do not use it on any production/live website. It is only meant for testing in a local/staging environment.
