I have a “Single Post Template” and 4 posts. They all have a Title, Featured Image and Content.
Now I want to put an Accordion inside 2 posts. That means, 2 posts would have an “Accordion” with further text and other 2 none. If its possible, how?
When I go to Wordpress > Posts > All Posts and open a Post with Wordpress, I can not find any Accordion element within Wordpress tools.
If you are using Gutenberg (Wordpress default editor), you will not be able to create a proper accordion layout inside your post. But, you can activate Bricks editor to edit your posts.
To do that, activate it as follows:
Bricks > Settings > Post types > Activate “Posts”
Thanks to this option, you will have Bricks available as an editor of your posts and you can then use its Accordion element inside the desired posts.
Thanks but when I open the post with Bricks, they are empty.
I thought we must create posts with Gutenberg, since its easy to put title, content and featured image with one click inside. But if we can use Bricks for Posts too, I prefer of course Bricks.
Since all 4 Posts are created with Gutenberg, then I need to create them new with Bricks I guess. I already tried “Load Gutenberg data into Bricks” but when I then open a Post with Bricks, it only shows the text without featured image.
Question:
When I create a Post with Bricks, do I need to design the layout, margins, colours etc. too?
I guess not, because I already have a “Single Post Template” which is already designed with Bricks.
You can put all the global styling inside your template. And the specific styling inside your post. Don’t forget to call your post content in the template by using the “Post content” element and the data from Bricks (not Wordpress anymore).
thank you I will check it later in the evening. For now Im wondering when creating in Bricks a Post, there is no featured image field (like in Gutenberg on the right side) but I will check i later.
Ah, I did not know we can use Gutenberg and Bricks for the same blog, good to know.
I just tested now , also with the “post content” element to pull data from bricks. Very nice.
Now the last challenge will be to find out the best effective way, to not make double work with Bricks Single Posts, since Im having the Single Post Template.
In the evening I will try… I could copy paste the same style as in Singe Post Template, into the 4 new created Posts and in one or two of them I will put “Accordion”.
