Hi,
I’d like to share a tool I’ve created. I really like how Bricks Builder handles colors in the latest update and how it allows working with dark, light, and transparent shades.
However, since I use Figma for design, I ran into issues with manually setting up colors, transferring them between Figma and Bricks, and overall it became quite time-consuming.
So I built a tool called shadelab.cz that generates color palettes based on your basic setup. It currently supports features that I personally find useful and use in my workflow.
You can export the generated colors as JSON, ready for import into both Bricks Builder and Figma.
I also created a simple framework with basic principles and variables that I commonly use, so it’s easier to work with for both developers and designers. This framework is also available for download on the website.
Since I wanted to visualize all colors directly in Figma, I built a custom Figma plugin. It allows you to import the generated data, automatically creates variables, and generates a visual overview of all colors linked to those variables.
Now you can easily and quickly have your variables in both Bricks and Figma, including unified naming for better clarity and faster navigation.
This is the first version, so there may still be some bugs. So far everything has worked well for me, but I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions for improvements.
I hope some of you will find it useful and that it helps speed up your workflow.
