NO BUG: Youtube autoplay

Hi,
On my new project https://piotrdzik.pl/ on home page i have youtube video with autoplay. After i add it yesterday it works and today stop working. Autoplay is on. Autoplay works in editor but don’t work on frontend.

Could you have other video plugins installed that could affect the YouTube api? I can’t reproduce the problem :thinking:

Hi Thomasz,
the “problem” seems to be browser dependent (or browser setting dependent). Generally speaking, browsers tend to block autoplay for media with sound. Accordingly, I set your video to “mute” and can no longer detect a problem on desktop (mobile is a whole other story, depending on other factors).

I tested it in Chrome, Firefox and Safari:

  • Chrome: plays with or without sound
  • Firefox: plays only the video without sound, but shows an option to allow it in the address bar (presumably you can allow or block it in the settings)
  • Safari: plays only the video without sound

Thanks for help. Sound in this case is no problem. Video have no sound.
