NO BUG: Unable to save Bricks Updates & Plugin Download issues

Hi, I’m having a situation where I cannot save any edits in the Bricks builder. The site is https://businesslawyersonline.com.au/ and was recently migrated after being built on Local Server.
I’m also seeing an issue where I cannot install any plugin via the add new plugins, get a message like this: Installation failed: Download failed. fopen(/tmp/wpvivid-backuprestore.0.9.95-n5TUMC.tmp): Failed to open stream: No such file or directory

I tried deactivating all plugins and the theme and this did not work when trying to download a plugin.

I did have trouble downloading the local file, and had to install an older version of all in one migration plugin to get it to work when migrating, The old plugin has since been removed. Will also mention, I tried Backupbuddy and this failed too.

I have migrated 100’s of sites over the years and neve had so much trouble.

I know we have 2 issues here, both need fixing, Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Ian

Hi Ian,
Welcome to the forum, and thanks so much for your report!

Overall, this sounds more like a migration problem to me, especially since the error message mentioned points to wpvivid (which I personally have not had any problems with when migrating installations).

There are a couple of reasons for the “failed to open stream” error in WordPress. Please have a look here: How to Fix the WordPress Failed to Open Stream Error

Does everything work as usual if you switch to a standard theme like twentytwentyfour: are the problems still there?

We have a similar problem. But just the unable to save Bricks builder updates one. It is incredibly frustrating. This is the first time we have attempted any edits since the site launched a week or two ago. Some pages we can save, but some we cannot. I have disabled Meta Box as this looks like it caused some problems for some people. I don’t know where to look next. Any help would be appreciated. This is the main page we are trying to edit in Bricks builder. https://pritel.au/national-broadband-network-nbn/

Hi @HeatherC,
Welcome to the forum!

Would you be so kind as to send temporary login credentials and a link to this thread to help@bricksbuilder.io using the email address you used during the purchase?

Hi Timmse, Thanks for your response. We re-imported the site from the development environment. Everything is working fine now - thankfully! We realised, after importing that we were testing ModSec-WAF and all our other sites were using Wordfence security settings. At the moment, we think it was the security differences that were causing Bricks to not save on some pages. So far so good, we are very happy to have Bricks saving again.

FYI, for anyone else, The PHP settings ended up being the issue, it was on 8.1 and when set back to 7.4 everything started working as it should.
