NO BUG: Remote template not working

Bricks Version: 1.5.4

Ok a weird bug maybe but a user of bricksdesignset cannot load the templates of bricksdesignset.com

I looked at the url and it is correct. Pressed the refresh button. I downgraded the theme to 1.5.3 but nothing works. Do you guys maybe know where it could be?

Is specifically about this website https://loadweb.de/
I don’t hear other users about it yet.

Hi Daney,
Thank you very much for your report!

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the issue (tested on three different installations/servers).
Accordingly, it is difficult to say what the problem could be…

Best regards,
timmse

@timmse

I reported my problem to Daney and he posted it in the forum. I tested remote templates with a different hosting provider and it works perfectly. Could it have something to do with default secrurity measurements activated by my hosting provider?

Restrict access to files and directories
Block directory search (Can be reset)
Block unauthorized access to “wp-config.php” (Can be reset)
Disable PHP execution in cache directories (Can be reset)
Change the default prefix of database tables
Block access to sensitive files (Can be reset)

Hey @Laidbackluke ,
Welcome to the forum, and thanks for the additional information. Can you access the standard community templates (https://bricksbuilder.io), or does the problem only occur with Daney’s templates?

Best regards,
timmse

Hey @timmse,

it only occurs with Daney´s templates. The Bricks community templates work fine.

Cheers,
Lukas

Templates from “https://freebies.brickstemplates.com” do not work either.

Both work fine for me, good to discover new stuff.

Would be good to list these sites somewhere so everyone knows about them. Maybe in the Showcase section for now?

Would also be really good if we could add multiple remote template sites and have an easy way to switch between them once on a page.

maybe the default PHP options?

Same issue here. Templates don’t work on certain sites. There doesn’t appear to be a ryhme or reason why these templates don’t work which makes everything harder.

Unfortunately, we haven’t made any progress on this topic yet either.
Are your affected sites all with the same or different providers, Patrick?

Have same problem, any solution yet?

After a long discussion with my hosting company, they figured out where the problem is, the hosting where the bricksdesignset.com site is located, with unknown reasons is blocking communication with some servers. My hosting moved my site to a server that was not affected by this blockage and the templates are working. Why this blockage is happening is a question for the hosting company where the domain bricksdesignset.com is located.

Thanks so much for the information Martin!
This should be of particular interest to @Daney

I mark the thread accordingly as NO BUG.
Maybe you can say what it was if you know more, Daney.

I have contacted my hosting provider, what they say is that if you are on a shared hosting that is suspected of sending malware then my hosting provider blocks the connection. What you can do about this is move to a better hosting provider, or ask if they can move you to another server.

Any chance you were on InmotionHosting? My local site works fine, but Inmotion Shared doesn’t work with any link :frowning:
