Posts element in the Grid layout does not allow you to use the “Link Image” option in other layouts.
If you change layout, set the option and return to Metro it works as you would expect.

Thanks so much for your report, and welcome to the forum!
Disabling the setting for the metro layout is a conscious decision because the post title in the fields is a link by default. If you now set the whole element as a link as well, it will break your layout, because links are not allowed in links.
You can use the trick, but please remember to remove the link from the post title or other fields.

I understand, but I do not want to use any field but only the image. That’s why I thought it was a bug.
In my opinion this option should be contemplated because the metro layout is quite elegant and allows you to create quite small “galleries”.
