The trigger not working and not only pop up target, but the whole interaction settings in the Bricks Builder canvas. Anything set for interaction don’t work.
Below is a screenshot of me trying to use the interaction to trigger a popup, yet it doesn’t work.
Every time this happens to me, it’s cause I forgot to set the popup to show on the entire site inside the template settings of the popup. Could that be it?
Your interaction settings look correct to me (if you want to open a popup by clicking on an icon). As Martin already stated one typical source of error are missing or incorrect template conditions on the popup template. Can you please check / show those conditions?
[…] not only pop up target, but the whole interaction settings […]
I would need some more precise info about what exactly is not working for you to say anything more about it.
I set the condition for the popup template to “entire site” before it began to display. Another issue to fix is the cursor when you hover around the button/anything you set a trigger for to pop a template, it doesn’t change except I set something for link. It’s not fair.
This Popup stuff of Bricks is almost a piece of sh**t.
The trigger button has issues, on my old website I went to check and found the popup trigger not working. Imagine what customers I must have lost. The cursor issue for that popup trigger is nothing but sh**t.
Saying something is shit just cause you don’t know how it works, says a lot about a person…
There is lots of parts in bricks that could and will be improved. If you’re not willing to learn, tinker and if need be find workarounds for things that aren’t fully mature yet, then don’t use it on a site where you then supposedly loose customers…
This kinda statement just brings toxic energies into the forum which is the last thing we need, especially the devs that are doing a bang up job fixing and pushing new stuff out constantly.
Just gonna leave it at that, before it turns into a full blown rant. Good luck with your site.
Yes, I do. I am using Bricks on production and commercial website with lots of customers. Won’t I be held responsible for making the business I work for lose customers because of these issues?
I express the pain I felt, unfortunately, you both added to my pain. No problem.
It’s your responsibility to choose and use the most adequate tools for the job. Nobody forced you to use bricks. I understand the frustration when something breaks but again, your choice.
Personally, due to sometimes larger changes between Updates, I never Update a bricks site on its live domain. It’s just something that comes with using a relatively new tool like bricks. Also, I haven’t had a single bricks site where something randomly doesn’t work… If your popup wasn’t working and you lost customers… Didn’t you test the popup after you implemented it or after you made an update or something?
This community is great and more than willing to help just not when you formulate your issues in the way you did…
