NO BUG: PHP 8.5 incompatible

I tried to install Bricks on a fresh WordPress 6.9 install at a major UK web host. First I changed the PHP version to 8.5. It wouldn’t install: the error was ‘This link has expired’.

Raising the issue with their support, the advice was to roll back to PHP 8.3 (not even 8.4) and they claim it is a Bricks incompatibility. This was their response:-

No, this would be something the theme developer would need to look into I'm afraid. It would be up to the theme developer to look into providing compatibility with a PHP version it appears to be incompatible with.

PHP versions have different module compatibility and said module compatibility is entirely dependant on if the module developers have created compatibility for higher versions. Bricks likely requires modules that are simply only currently available for lower PHP versions. If you require them to develop for the latest PHP version, that's a request you'd need to make to Bricks' support.

Can anyone give a definitive answer to this?

Bricks is compatible with PHP 8.4. As you can see on the screenshot, all my Bricks sites are hosted on PHP 8.4 and they load correctly. They are also all using Wordpress 6.9.

wordpress started supporting 8.5 just couple weeks ago.

but most of the plugins on w.org doesn’t even support the 8.3+ still

Thanks, I’m leaving it on 8.3 for now.

Thanks, 8.3 seems to work with everything I’m using, so will stick with that.
