NO BUG: Password protected post does not use defined template

Hi,
I’m currently working on a website that includes password-protected posts. I’ve created a custom template for these posts and configured the appropriate condition. However, I’ve encountered an issue: when a post is password-protected, the default bricks template (featuring the title, author, date, and comments on an image background) is displayed instead of the defined template.
I’m not sure if this is a bug or the expected behavior, but I think it would make more sense to either hide everything (like on pages) or display a part of the custom template.

Is there a way to achieve this?

Thank you very much and kind regards,
Simone

Hi @simone,

Thank you for getting in touch. Yes that is the current behavior and we do have an idea on the ideas board to add a new template that would let you customize password protected pages/posts: Ideas – Bricks. So it’s not exactly a bug but yeah it would be a cool feature to have :slight_smile:

Any news on adding this template?

@charaf Any updates on this?
A template type for the password pages for the protected posts would be super useful.

It’s quite a common thing for clients to do and we have to hack some fix in functions.php at the moment to get the job done.

It’s on our idea board but not a WIP yet: Idea board – Bricks. Feel free to share your feedback on it.
