NO BUG: Pages option in the builder showing old post types

Bricks Version: 1.6.2
Browser: Chrome 90
OS: macOS / Windows / Linux / etc.
URL: (a link to a page that illustrates the issue would be really helpful)

[Please describe in as much detail as possible how we can replicate this bug]

Copied a site over from another install before starting, removed the previous post type (fostering-stories) and content - added lots more (projects, events, sponsors, etc.) but Bricks pages option dropdown hasn’t updated for the latest ones for me.

(this is admittedly when editing a single template which I have set to be for the ‘sponsor’ post type.)

Hi Rob,
Did you save your permalinks after creating the custom post types?

Wordpress » Settings » Permalinks » save

If that doesn’t work, is it possible that you are using a caching plugin?

Hey Stefan, I did actually try that first and just done it again now, but sadly nothing. Also tried in non-CPT pages or templates and just normal pages, still the same sadly.

Nothing cache wise as I’m on staging, but using WPEngine if that’s any help.

So creating CPT, then removing it and making new ones, and using this function works for you?

Hm

Would you be so kind as to send temporary login credentials and a link to this thread to help@bricksbuilder.io using the email address you used during the purchase?

Sure, done that now

Hey Rob,
In order for you to edit them with Bricks, you also have to tell them that they can be edited with Bricks

Best regards,

Hi @timmse oh, that makes sense.

I didn’t think that applied as I don’t want to use Bricks to edit the post types individually, just as a base template? I don’t want clients that use Bricks to be able to edit those individual post types in Bricks, that’s where Divi always used to fall short for me and clients would fiddle and override things.

In Oxygen that was always how it worked so I presumed it was the same in Bricks, that’s all.

Now I know, that’s fine.

Aaah I see what you mean. You want to use the “Pages” navigation only as “quick navigation” :bulb:
It is currently not designed for this and only serves as a quick navigation for post types that can be edited with Bricks (Bricks » Settings » General).

Exactly that Stefan yes, sorry if that wasn’t clear. A little like Beaver Builder’s free tool for managing content from the frontend, which I guess I can just use instead https://assistant.pro/ (Used to really like that but actually not testing it with Bricks)

I get that now, it just wasn’t at all obvious when I was using it this way and I was puzzled (doesn’t take much) but now you’ve explained it this makes sense. Is it something the quick navigation could update to show in the future as it’s super help?

Many thanks

Personally, I don’t think it’s a bad idea as it makes the workflow between Gutenberg and Bricks a bit more seamless and speeds it up. I will suggest this internally when I get the chance

Agreed, thanks Stefan that’s great.

I’ve asked the guys at BB if they can make their Assistant tool consider Bricks in the future as they’ve done it for lots of builders, and it needs to work with Happy Files, as I think together it’s an awesome workflow increaser but sadly it’s current limits make it unappealing for using with HF and Bricks.
