NO BUG: Pages losts and problem with accents after restoring à site with updraft

Hi,

I use updraft for saving my client’s website and never experiment problem with updraft.
But for the first time of my life, the website’s pages doesn’t appear anymore. Not in the editor either. It’s not just the pages, all the sections and templates I made have totally disappeared. I’ve lost all my work.

To top it all off, special characters no longer work either. For example, the word “Réseau” becomes “Réseau”.

Can you please help me? I’m in total panic.

Apparently, something went fundamentally wrong with your restore attempt, which is not necessarily related to Bricks (see notices/warnings below).

  1. Why do you want to restore the site from a backup (security update)?
  2. Have you checked the backup beforehand to see if it contains any “suspicious” files?
  3. Do you have other backups that you could import?
  4. Have you connected to the server via FTP to see if you see any “abnormal” files or folders there (Steps to identify and repair a compromised Bricks site – Bricks Academy)?

It seems to be a problem with serialization. But I don’t know how to solve it

Thanks for your help and sorry, it wasn’t the theme’s fault! I’m just really dumb sometimes…

In fact, DB_CHARSET was set to utf8mb4 instead of latin1 in the wp-config.

Thanks again for your assistance and sorry for the lost time.

Hi Thalia! Im facing some trobles with a migration from a website that is built with latin1 to a utf8mb4… how do you resolve this problem?
