NO BUG: No (smooth) scrolling within Bricksbuilder (and also not within website)

Hello!

I don’t find a solution to get any smooth scrolling to work with bricks (new to bricks and started with a fresh 1.7.3)

In yours and other tutorial videos, I can see, when one clicks an element in the bricksbuilder (i.e. a section), then it is scrolling to the element within the builder. This does not happen in my bricksbuilder (?) It only hard jumps to the elements. So I assume, I have a general problem and that’s why I cannot get smooth scrolling to work within my website? (One Page Navigation does not scroll as well, only hard jumps).

I have switched on the Bricks-Settings “Smooth Scrolling”, also tried the recommended CSS from various posts, nothing. I tried in Firefox and Opera… WP 6.2, no plugins. No JS-Errors in the console.

Please help

Thanx & best regards

Stephan.

Hi Stephan,
Thanks so much for your report, and welcome to the forum!

As for the scroll to functionality within the builder please enable the “Expand active element & scroll into view” setting in Bricks » Settings » Builder:

The smooth scroll setting in “General” is for <a href="#anchorLinks"> only.

Best regards,
timmse

Hi Timmse!

Thank you very much for your quick response! This works now within the builder

Unfortunately my main problem is not affected from this (to get smooth scrolling work with Links/One Page Navigation etc.) I hoped this would be related.

As I mentioned before: I have switched on the Bricks-Settings “Smooth Scrolling”, also tried the recommended CSS from various posts, nothing. I tried in Firefox, Edge & Opera… WP 6.2, no plugins. No JS-Errors in the console. Only hard jumps, with your anchor-Link-example, with a button and with One Page Navigation.

So it would be great if you could point me to the right direction.

Thank you & best regards

Stephan.

Hello again!

I just tested it on my mobile phones (iOs Safari/Firefox & android) and there it works. Then I tested it on my laptop and there it works, too  So it’s something on my PC… Very strange, since it affects 4 browsers.

You can mark it as solved and I’ll post here, if I find something.

Thank you!

Stephan.

Hey,
Then “reduce motion” may be activated for you. Look here for information on where to find the settings:

WOW, that was it.

I did (over)see this in some other threads but… too far away from me  I would never have the idea to check this option.

Sorry for that & thank you very much!

Stephan.
