NO BUG: Navigation Text Wrap does not work

Hey There,
i used the Nav Element and want the menue items to be horizontally. I Tablet and mobile they should break to two or three rows, but itn not working. I still see an overflow
My nav settings:
“Top Level / Typography/ Text Wrap/Wrap”

Cheers
Monika

I think a single word is a single object that doesn’t want to break. So the first word is really long and without adding a custom word breakpoint in the word itself (css), it don’t know how to break it up.
While Uber, uns are 2 separated words, so they will break and wrap.

Thanks a lot. This is also something I want to change, but I meant something else:
There are about 10 Menue Items which are all outsite the Screen on the right side.
This is my bigger Problem

if the direction of the content is set to horizontal and a no-wrap property is given to the outer container object, it can not wrap the content inside the screen. So a overflow is created.

So i’m not sure how you plan to fit all those items horizontally but to me, it seems impossible.

This setting determents the direction of the content inside the container:

If its s used with the wrap property, it will first try to place it in the selected direction and wrap when it runs out of space.

Or you could allow overflow and thereby make the section scrollable. But it might be confusing for the users without proper directions.

Maybe try it in a slider if it needs to be horizontal?

I set the outer Container also to “wrap” but the Menue still creates an overflow.
See Screenshot below on ipad.
I dont want the Menue items to be vertically, they shall be next to each other and break in the next row.

Is there really no way to create this simple navigation behaviour?

Is it a Bricks nav menu, nav nested menu, or not a real menu?
Bricks nav is 1 single element and will not break
Bricks nav nested maybe can be cheated by putting the items in div’s
If its not a real menu then i would also try to put them in div’s

ok thank you. Its a Bricks nav.
But With Bricks nav nested, there are not automatically loaded Menue Items?
What if I add a new Page?
This is not a convenient solution.

Is there no way to load a horizontally Menue which behaves responsive?

Not that i can think of. Just tried it quickly, but it seems not possible to me.

For my websites i only use nav nested as it is superior to the normal menu. But indeed you have to add all the links yourself. It also doesn’t seem possible to use a query to get the menu items.

Hi @Monika,

is this what you want to achieve? If yes, then you need to add flex-wrap:wrap to the #menu-hauptmenue element.

Let me know please,
Matej

YESSS! That was satisfying to fix it  thanks a lot you made my day.

Hi @Monika,

thank you for the confirmation. I’ll mark the topic as no bug, as it’s not really a Bricks bug this time

Best regards,
Matej
