Bricks Version: 1.6.2 Browser: Chrome 90 OS: macOS / Windows / Linux / etc. URL: (a link to a page that illustrates the issue would be really helpful)
I am working on a MultiSite and even if I have activated the license in both subsides of the MultiSite, on one of them I cannot edit templates, and they are not shown in fronted post neither.
The second site is fine.
Have you noticed this issue?
I have opened a ticket for this
Hey Raul,
Quick explainer: Bricks Templates are a custom Post Type, so it’s always a good idea to hit the permalinks save button once or twice after migration/moving wordpress, changing the PHP version, or any other siginifcant change.
I’m glad you were able to solve the problem on your own.
so i guess this answers my question if Bricks Builder Supports multisite, is that right, and can I use the templates across the other sites, right, I can create the templates on main and then be able to pull them from there or how it gets done this is my first multisite project, can some one give me a hand
as far as I know you cannot share templates directly using multisite, but could obviously share via remote templates. we use multisite pretty regularly and have an NS clone plugin to duplicate our “blueprint” site. We are considering building a repository site, much like how Frames has a template library. I’m sure it’s possible to set this up as elements you c+p into your new subsite without the use of remote templates.
We have noticed issues with multisite and cloning - make sure once you set up your blueprint clone site to test the clone - some plugins and child themes render the new site unavailable and you have to FTP to fix it. Another issue is sometimes we have to manually add super admins to the subsites or else the necessary permissions for Bricks are missing.
Hey Luis,
You install the theme centrally in your multisite and can use it in all sub-sites, but you cannot access templates from sub-site a in sub-site b. (except when using remote templates or manually copying and pasting). This does not work with normal posts either.
Technically, it is one installation and one database, but each sub-site has its own database tables. Otherwise, you would have exactly the same content on every sub-site.
Thank you TIMMSE, i wonder if creating the multisite as subdomain or as subderectory will be the best, i thinking of going the subdirectory way, because the idea of the project is that the customers are going to be able to make changes on their on pages this pages are going to be custom post types, and i want each customer to login and they can see only what it belongs to them, make changes, upload image and so on, without affecting the other users, im trying to see if is posible to make bricks to allow the customers to only change the product and price details nothing else the design it has to be intact. that my goal
and i know subdomains is just the structure of URL, for example, site1.maindomain.com/pagename and the subdirectory is maindomain.com/site1/pagename but i don’t know im thinking to take the subdirectory route, because this will be a service that i will be offering, but i just want the customer to access and modified data only on the custom post type nothing more only that.
But this has nothing to do with the general setup. Both methods, subdirectory, and subdomain have pros and cons. Do some research on google, you will find some interesting articles that will help you to make the right decision
