I’d suggest that is a problem with your browser/PC settings, definitely nothing to do with Bricks.
Tried with Brave, Vivaldi, Opera, Firefox … all work perfectly and open my mail app.
Thanks for checking! Ok I will try figure what settings I might have on both chrome and Brave that could be preventing it. I have no trouble with mailto links on other websites and so I thought my settings were ok. But thank you for checking (and the reassurance! )
In Brave it does prompt for permission to open the mail app - you have the option to deny it here and it may save that. Maybe you’ve tested previously and blocked it? All the others just opened directly.
Can’t help with Chrome - don’t use it.
Hi Yasmine,
I’m pretty sure it’s due to the same reason as this report.
If so, it’s not a bug
Thank you! Just so I understand - if you just add mailing@email.com?Subject=blahblahblah into an external link, then it autoadds the mailto: so I should not add mailto:
Correct. This applies to dynamic data email addresses, too.
did this change at some point? i used to have to manually add the mailto: before my dynamic data field for email address. I just discovered I have broken links across 50 sites because they now read as mailto:mailto:address@domain.com
Not that I’m aware of @r5websites .
Which dynamic data plugin and which field type are you using?
Are there any special features in your setup such as extremely nested fields in repeaters, groups, etc.? If so, I need to see the exact setup so that I can possibly reproduce the problem.
