NO BUG: Issue with ‘Limit Product Quantity to One’ in WooCommerce

Browser: Chrome 136
OS: Windows

In WooCommerce, i encountered an issue with the “Limit product quantity to one” option? The problem occurs when trying to order the product again. The quantity in the cart doesn’t increase, but a “problem message” appears when trying to proceed to checkout.
If anyone has encountered this problem, let me know.

Hi @zbyneksmetana,

I’ve tested, but I’m not sure how to replicate the issue. Can you record the video, showing your setup, your product settings, and how to replicate the issue?

Thank you.
Matej

Sorry for the delay — I only started diagnosing the issue yesterday (clean installation of WooCommerce and Bricks). It turned out that the problem occurs when you enable “Bricks > Settings > WooCommerce > Enable Bricks WooCommerce Notice Element”, but don’t add the “Notice” element to the product template.

In that case, notifications such as “you can only add one product” are missing, and an error appears when navigating from Cart → Checkout. The error message says:
“There are some issues with the items in your cart. Please go back to the cart page and resolve these issues before checking out.”

I’m not sure if this can be classified as a bug — probably yes, because someone might not know that the Notice element is required for the proper functioning of the store.

Hi @zbyneksmetana,

thank you for your answer. In this case, it’s not a bug. The reason why this happens is that because you don’t add “Notice” element on the page, where the error could occur, the WooCommerce will show a native on the first page that has a “Notice” element - which in your case is “Checkout”.

Because of that, this is not a bug, and I’ll mark the topic as such.

Thank you and best regards,
Matej

Here, take a look at an example (a clean installation with only Bricks and WooCommerce, nothing else).

Procedure:

  1. Click the “Add to cart” button several times.
  2. Then click on the cart icon at the top → checkout.
  3. A strange error should appear.

From the customer’s point of view, you should indicate somewhere that the “Notice” element is required for the proper functioning of the store. I thought the notice was something insignificant, but it turns out it’s quite the opposite.
This is for your own good—I was 90% convinced that there was a bug in Bricks.

Hi @zbyneksmetana,

don’t you think the text description below is clear enough, that the “Notice” element is needed wherever necessary?

Best regards,
Matej

Cite “notifications are removed when this setting is enabled”

I think there should be a simple message like: “If notifications are missing, the shop may not work correctly in some situations.” It would help to explain what exactly can go wrong.
