NO BUG: Favicon / Site Image mechanism doesn't work anymore (JPG/PNG)

Browser: Chrome 110
OS: macOS / Windows / Linux / etc.

SOLVED: This is a ThumbPress Pro Issue

Hi all!

The problem is quite simple. Favicon simply don’t show on non-logged in pages. And I think this occurred since the last update. I can see that it worked in the past, but now the link seems to be broken. It does show in Settings > General though.

The weird thing is that is shows and then gets changed to the globe-fallback. Like it sees it worked before, but now it’s broken.

I’ve tried:

  • Changing the format (was WebP, but also tried PNG and JPG)
  • Installing Really SImple SSL
  • Adding a favicon.ico in the public_html folder
  • Also I tried changing the header.php file but it doesn’t allow me to edit that.

This started happening since a couple of days ago (last update) which also doesn’t allow me the open the media folder. It simply doesn’t do anything, UNLESS I’m in incognito mode…

Hi Boy,
Thanks so much for your report!

I don’t think this is a Bricks bug, especially since we haven’t received any other reports about it, and I can’t reproduce the problem in any of my installations.

Two quick ways to test:

  1. Switch to a standard theme temporarily—if the problem persists, it’s definitely not caused by Bricks
    or
  2. Deactivate all plugins without exception—if the problem no longer occurs with the Bricks theme active, one of your plugins is causing it

What I’ve noticed is that some tags are in the body (including the link tags), even though they should be in the head:

Best regards,

Hi Timmse,

I found the issue. And the issues is with ThumbPress Pro (Version 6.0) causing the issue. My bad… The thing is that these updates came at the same time. I put the ticket to solved!

Many thanks for your quick reply!
