NO BUG: Excerpt not taking automatically on archive page or search page

On my archive page. Excerpt not taking automatically. When I changed from my single post data source from wordpress to bricks… Here are the screen shots

As I have many posts on gutenberg I am transferring them into bricks. But when I transferred them to bricks the excerpt not taking automatically. Like gutenberg does.

Thanks so much for your report!

The WordPress excerpt refers either to the WordPress/Gutenberg content or the excerpt field in the edit-post screen in the sidebar.

For Bricks content, there is no excerpt. Accordingly, you would have to use the excerpt field in the edit post screen in the sidebar.

Well, according to version number you are using Bricks 1.7.3 - the current version is 1.9.1.1 in which the excerpt works fine for me.

When I skip through your video (which is really hard to follow because of the >20 tabs and the missing sound), the custom excerpt field (see my screenshot) is always empty, right? Accordingly, no excerpt can be output because it is empty.

It could be that we misunderstand each other, but currently I don’t see any problems with the excerpt and unfortunately, I don’t know how to reproduce your problem.

Make sure on next update it works for CPT as well. Cause My agency is now working with Bricks. We are going to build more than 30+ websites per month. Please make this top priority


Sorry for misunderstanding this is the correct version I am using. And yes custom excerpt is empty

In my case, it also works for CPTs without problems…

Well I am using custom excerpt at the moment. It is working.
