NO BUG: Editor with Edit Content capabilities can't edit anything

Hello!

I am not sure if this is a bug, but it seems that a user with an Editor role cannot edit anything even though they have Edit Content capabilities (in Brick’s settings).

This is what’s happening:

I have some users with the Editor role.

Then, I have set that by default all editors have Edit Content capabilities:

Doing so, I assumed editors would now have access to edit text, headings… within the Bricks builder.

However, if I access to a page as an Editor, this is what I get:

The red warning text says: “The element section does not exist”

And this is what I see if I change the capabilities of those editors from Edit Content to Full Access:

As you can see, the editors cannot see anything within a section.

What’s happening?

Thank you!

Hi,
Thanks so much for your report!

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the issue. Would you be so kind as to provide a screencast showing and explaining your setup? Please send along login credentials to help@bricksbuilder.io

Best regards,
timmse

Hi @timmse,

I am testing if there is a plugin conflict, and it seems that the issue is related to Bricksforge.

I am going to investigate a bit further before bothering you!

If I can’t figure it out, I will reach you or Bricksforge support.

Thank you!

Hey knut :raising_hand_man:t2: Could you check what the „Editor“ role is showing you in the Bricksforge settings under „Customizer“? For me it looks like some elements have been disabled for this role :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey Daniele!

Thank you for jumping in

I have finally managed to make it work. The editor role had some elements disabled, which was OK. But what I didn’t see was the “Keep the Changeability” toggle. With that off, nothing was editable. It is a little confusing!

Glad that it works now! And yes, that makes sense. Here a screenshot from the docs:
