NO BUG: Editor empty canvas on 1.6 beta

Bricks Version: 1.6 beta 2
Browser: Brave Latest
OS: Windows 11

I have this weird bug if I upgrade from 1.5.7 to 1.6 beta, the whole canvas is white. If I revert to 1.5.7 everything looks fine.

This happens also if I deactivate all my plugins. And also for creating new pages. Rocket Loader is turned off in Cloudflare.

Same issue, but exactly with the 1.6 beta 2 version

Tried it out on a local install, so everything fresh, with these plugins installed:

Bricks Extras
BricksProps

I deleted all other themes, worked on a child theme

At first it worked - i created a page, published it, started editing with bricks. Then i had to upload an svg and remembered that i havenā€˜t configured my rights to do so  so saved my work, went ahead to the settings and activated it, uploaded my svg’s and noticed the cancas was not showing anything at all, the structure panel had items and the front end rendered what was done up until that point. I’ve tried out several options to fix it, but it didn’t work

Then i simply replaced the 1.6 beta 2 with 1.6 beta and it came back.

Didn’t try to reinstall the beta 2

Was running on local, php 8.1, tried with 8.0 same result
Server - apache
Database - maria

Thank you, Timmse!

I have experienced this issue on my local by flywheel server, so i don’t have a way to send you the login, unless I understood your request incorrectly? Sorry if I might be confusing something

Ah sorry, I missed the ā€œlocalā€ in your report. No problem, I’ll try to follow your steps to reproduce the issue :+1:

Hey @lauhriz ,
I have created a new test installation with localwp and followed your steps, but I can’t find any problems. In the meantime, I changed the PHP version (7.4.1 Ā» 8.1.9), switched from nginx to apache, and could not find any problems. The only difference is that I have not installed the two plugins mentioned.

Can you please test it again with a new installation (the best would be a live site) if you are able to reproduce the issue?

Can you please send access data to a live site @webmate ?

Best regards,
timmse

Hey!

I have tested it on a computer that I cannot access today, but i will try this on my work laptop, first on local, to see if I get similar behavour and get back with the results here

Hi!
So on a different computer, still on local by flywheel, I was able to reproduce exactly the same issue

I have created a new webpage, clean install of WP, then added bricks 1.6 b2, a child theme, and installed bricks extras 1.1.9 and oxyprops 1.4.8

Did nothing special, just created a new page and started editing. Saved it, hit refresh on the browser and that is what I get, an empty canvas. It is being rendered on the Front end:

Same if I switch to a different browser:

And now anything I would like to create or edit with bricks gets me into this blank canvas

I don’t get the opportunity to install it on live server at this moment :frowning:

Hey! Sorry for the late reply.

I also have BricksProps installed and from what I see from their Facebook group it’s related to the plugin (not sure?). When I’ll get back to a laptop I’ll send the info. Thanks!

Hey @lauhriz @webmate ,
Please deactivate Bricks(oxy)Props. If everything works normally afterward, we have identified the culprit. However, it is then up to the plugin developers to fix it.

Hey @timmse. Yes, it seems that might have been the problem. Thanks!
It seems the problem is fixed if you deactivate and reactivate again the Oxyprops plugin.

I had the same problem already with the beta 1 version. The reason is probably oxyprops 1.4.8. After a complete reinstall without oxyprobs, the empty canvas problem disappeared.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the feedback, and welcome to the forum, Pietro!

I would say we can close the case as ā€œno bugā€

timmse

@timmse The problem is not with the third-party plugins. I did a clean install using Bricks Beta 2. The white screen persists.

Even going back to stable version 1.5.7, the problem remains.

There’s something very wrong going on, and I’m not able to identify the problem.

I’ve already cleared the browser’s cache, and now I’ve just done a clean install using the stable version 1.5.7.

Sometimes the panel appears blank, sometimes it doesn’t. But see I can’t edit the font. (see attached print)

Hi Andres,
Why did you delete your report on this? Problem found and solved? If so, please share the details

Im having the same issue.

I have reverted back to 1.5.7 and all is working ok.

I also have oxyprops but did a complete deactivation of all plugins and the issue was still there under 1.6.

Hey John,
Is the page publicly accessible? If so, would you please send us access data and a link to this thread to help@bricksbuilder.io?

Best regards,
timmse

Hello, I have the same problem but without using xyprops.

The error occurs when migrating my site from the development environment to the production web; the bricks constructor stops working, and the canvas remains blank on the production web.

I tried two methods to move the website from the development environment to production:

  1. All-in-One WP Migration plugin, the plugin I always used without any issues.
  2. Copying the files and the database.

In both cases, the bricks canvas constructor stops functioning.

@timmse Help me, please.
