NO BUG: Community and Remote Templates Screenshots are not showing

Bricks Version: 1.6.1
Browser: Chrome 108
OS: macOS

I have Bricks installed on my Local (flywheel) WP instance. When I open the Templates Panel (showing a Grid of Templates) in Bricks Frontend, I Can Not see any Screenshots of any Template whether it is Community or Remote Templates. Since Bricks Academy official videos show community screenshots of templates, I assume this must be a Bug in Bricks Frontend. Please Help. Thank you.

I have the same or a similar problem. Same version; 1.6.1 - activated. Tried in Firefox and Edge, refreshing doesn’t help. Selecting a particular template type doesn’t help either.

EDIT: My Bricks builder account says: “You haven’t connected any sites to this license. Copy the license key above and paste it in your WordPress dashboard under “Bricks > License” to receive one-click updates.” I’m not sure whether this is relevant.

EDIT2: I host my own Wordpress site, currently only http, no https.
EDIT3: Https doesn’t make a difference.

Below is a screenshot:

Thanks for your post, I think we need the help of Bricks engineers here, this looks like a real bug

A kind reminder to the Bricks Team. I still cannot see any community template, and (I think it’s related) still no site is connected to my license, although according to the WP dashboard, the status of the Bricks plugin is ‘activated’.

Please, if I may have missed something obvious, let me know as well.

Hey guys,
Thanks so much for your report, and sorry for the late reply.

Unfortunately, I cannot see any issues with the community templates.
Please make sure the following is correctly set up:

  1. Enable https (even in a local environment)
  2. Make sure the “Remote templates URL” in Bricks » Settings » Templates is empty
  3. Click the little refresh button in the upper right
  4. Are there any console errors?

Best regards,
timmse

Thank you for the reply. I don’t notice any errors here. Before I continue the troubleshooting, could you comment on my observation that the website is not connected to a license? Or should that not matter for displaying the templates?

EDIT: I am running 1.6.1, and WP also does not show the possibility to update to 1.6.2.

Timmse, thanks for your response, better late than never! The only thing that fixed the invisible templates screenshots was to " 1. Make sure the “Remote templates URL” in Bricks » Settings » Templates is empty" as per your recommendation. But how do we view the screenshots of remote templates? I am trying to see “https://bricksdesignset.com” templates screenshots by adding that site url in the Settings/Templates but when I do that I can’t see either community or remote templates screenshots. This is a bug or a feature missing because we should be able to see both or either. Enabling https does nothing to solve this issue.

@tripbricks
If you can’t update, something is definitely wrong. Deactivate/remove the license and add it again. Actually, it should also work this way if the status shows “active” :thinking:

@hassan-farhood
Well, it depends on whether screenshots are stored in the remote templates. In the case of bricksdesignset, it doesn’t look like it, does it @Daney ?

No currently I have not linked the screenshots yet, that is why they are not visible. I still want to do that but I want to check everything before taking screenshots. So yes they are coming but when I don’t know yet.

Hey @Daney, Thanks a lot for the reply!

@hassan-farhood As Daney explained, he currently doesn’t provide any screenshots for his templates, so you can’t see any previews :slight_smile:

Any update on your issue @tripbricks?
