NO BUG: Captions default theme setting

I keep seeing my sites showing captions after updates- its happened on 2 sites so far… the fix is changing the default setting for captions to be “no caption” in the theme settings. can you make it so that this is the default settings?? we have never had to touch the theme setting for images in the page. but for some reason the default is becoming “attachment”… I haven’t tracked down exactly when this is happening. All I know is that we launched the website and there were no attachments… then on 2 sites there are captions showing now. I am expecting this to happen on other sites but it hasn’t yet (luckily).

Glad the fix is easy but I feel like the default option should be no caption. since most sites don’t use captions.

Hey @dsgadmin,

I also do not like the default setting but it’s been like this since the beginning of Bricks I guess. So in your case I guess it does not have to do with a Bricks update but with captions being added to those specific attachments (in the media library).

Best,

André

Hi Andrew,
Thanks so much for your report!

I agree with André. The caption behavior has always been like this. If you don’t change the caption setting in the theme styles and your images contain caption text in their metadata, they will be displayed.

ok. the seo team must have added captions and so now they are showing.
