NO BUG: Builder Access rights not working

Browser: Chrome / Edge / Firefox, latest builds
OS: macOS / Windows
URL: No link see screenshots

We build a new page, other accounts with roles ranging from Administrators to Editor are not able to edit the page.

We disabled all caching (WP Rocket, REDIS Cache and Cloudflare), did not resolve the issue.

The rights are configured correctly:

They do receive the following error:

The Administrator who created the account has no issues editing the page.

What I’ve tried as well is the following, I as an administrator create a new page and a new user and promote that user to Editor. When I edit the page as such:

The editor only sees:

The editor can however change the text when double clicking:

I’ve tried updating the theme to 1.8-beta2. Did not resolve the issue.

Could Wordfence cause this issue by any chance?

We run the following plug-ins:

  1. MainWP
  2. WordFence
  3. Redis Object Cache
  4. SEO Press
  5. Updraft Plus
  6. ComplianZ Cookie Banner
  7. Yoast Duplicate Post

Or does one of the above plug-ins conflict with Bricks?

Hey @Nemean,

this isn’t a bug. At the moment there are three builder mode access levels (see Builder Access – Bricks Academy):

  • Full Access: Users with full access can use Bricks without limitations.
  • Edit Content: Access is limited to editing content settings like texts, images, etc. All styling and layout-related settings, drag & drop, etc. are disabled.
  • No Access: User can not edit with Bricks.

You can control the access levels for different user roles under Bricks > Settings > Builder Access:

You can also set the access level for specific users on their profile pages:

Hi André,

Thanks for the information, how is it possible that the content within an Accordion is not editable?

With best regards,

Bram

Hey @Nemean,

there are certainly specific elements / setups that are not editable in the Edit Content access mode although they should be. It would be best if you created an improvement request and listed those elements / setups that aren’t editable but should be in your opinion.

Thanks,

André
