I made a looot of websites with Bricks, first time I witness a bug.
I çan’t understand the cause.
I just create a blank page, try to build it. If I add some specific emojis inside like it doesn’t save the page and I can’t restore my work. The autosave doesn’t save the blocks with the specifics emojis.
I tried to activate / desactivate the emoji trigger in perf settings. Still the same behavior.
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the issue. I can insert as many/different emojis as I like.
Can you reproduce the problem in a new installation without plugins?
I’m confused since you posted your solution at the same time here:
However, if there are “emoji issues,” the easiest way to debug is to change to a default theme, insert some emojis in Gutenberg, and see if there’s an error on save. If so, the problem is not related to Bricks. The method you mentioned could help in this case.
Thanks timmse! I just wanted to share the Php collation solution here in case anybody else encounters this emoji problem.
In order to troubleshoot the problem, I installed Bricks on another website running on Wordpress and found out emojis working all fine there. However your suggestion is more practical, so I’ll try that next time if I come across any problem in the future.
