Next/Prev post navigation arrows

Getting site visitors to view extra posts is notoriously difficult on mobile.

Having next/previous arrows on a post seems like about the best way to do it.

Does anyone know how to do it in Bricks?

(This is not a recommendation for the news source! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:)

Hi @flimflam ,

If it’s a single post or page template you can use the post navigation element.
If it’s the posts element which shows x posts on e.g. you homepage, there is a ā€œnavigationā€ option at the end of ā€œcontentā€ settings of the posts element which works like a pagination (1 2 3 4…).

If you really need arrows, the go to choice is the carousel element, which can show posts - with prev and next arrows.

timmse

@timmse you should receive some compensation from @thomas for great work on this forum…

Hi @timmse - Thanks for the response. I’m not sure I explained myself clearly.

I’m looking to navigate, within a post, to the next post.

Perhaps it’ll be easier to show an example from the same site.

(Once you click the right arrow, one appears on the left so you can return too)

Hi,

I listed all other options because it wasn’t clear where you you want the arrows to appear

Thanks again for your help @timmse.

I went back to the suggestions and got the following working.

Using a Post Navigation element () I pretty much turned off all of the Content options, leaving just the arrows.

I then changed it’s Positioning style to be Sticky, setting the top to be 50% and the Z index to 1.

I’m really please to say the arrows now stay in the position as you scroll up and down, taking you to the next /previous story when clicked on.

I’ll play around more on the formatting, but the concept has been proven! Thanks again @timmse

Nice, i’m glad it worked out.
Thanks for sharing your settings!

I’ve been making more changes/tuning the Prev/Next arrows. All working well. Only thing is that when viewed on a mobile the two arrows aren’t next to each other, but staggered, one beneath the other. Any idea how I can fix this @timmse?
