Nested mega menu with cascading submenus

I have been trying to build a (nested) mega menu with submenus that cascade from left to right as on https://www.jungheinrich.de/.

So far I have managed it with a lot of interaction settings but it does not integrate nicely and well, i.e. there are also some overflow issues. Does anyone know how to achieve something like this in a clean way?

or making the top menu nested nav and bottom parts coding something custom with .js (or tabs?)
