To add images you must click “add images” and browse the media catalog and select images WHILE holding down ctrl/cmd. If you forget to hold ctrl it then unselects all of the images you have just selected. It would be much better if you could simply select and unselect without the ctrl.

the media catalog you see, once you click on the “Add images” placeholder, is the default media modal from WordPress, it’s not our custom implementation.

It really needs to change as such bad UI, maybe a custom image picker
Maybe you can make it only add new images, so it does not pre-check all the images already added which can easily be accidentally unselected, it only lets you select new images to add, then the management of the images removing/ordering is done from the bricks window which it does now already.

as for now, we don’t have (or I’m not aware of) plans to change the native media picker with a custom one, so it’s best if you report your findings to WordPress itself.
If you accidentally select the wrong image and deselect others, and you don’t remember which images were selected previously, then you can try the “undo” button in the builder or just refresh without a save.

I don’t like to mention other builders but maybe you can do it how elementor does it then as that is far far better
