I would say in general, that the opinion that page builders having form features is possibly out of scope for a page builder, yet many have them. The can of worms has been opened and I doubt closing the lid at this point is likely not possible.
I actually appreciate the effort of Bricks developers to provide some form functionality. Bricks forms has gone as far as some form field validations as well as saving the entries to the DB for later export and use. It’s a start at this point.
There are three form tool features that the Bricks forms do not have that are important to me that conform to best practices for a form component:
-
The ability to create conditions such as “Opt-in” (Europeans should relate to this one)
-
A save that triggers sending an email with a confirm email link that returns to the form before the form is submitted. This would be a companion feature to item one that work hand in hand.
-
The ability to add email details to other services such as Mailchimp to add the mail list ie: subscribe functionality.
Without these, the form tool is a bit too minimalist still to be implemented for me.
Thanks for the effort so far.
