I believe this is only half possible with native Bricks.
With the POSTS block, there is a FILTER option. So in theory you could create posts, with featured image, a POSTS grid only showing the image, and show the filter on top.
Not the best way tho, unless you want the images as either post links or products.
You could instead try FILTER EVERYTHING plugin - which has a free version.
Try implementing ISTOPE yourself (which is what Bricks uses for their post filter)…
Or there are many plugins like Visual Portfolio Pro - which enables this with posts or just images. Finally, there are plugins like Facet WP - which are designed to enable filtering from simple to ‘oh god help me’ levels of complexity 
Something like this maybe?
I forgot to mention that those portfolio style elements to be filtered are independent pages (not from the blog), with more information, so they have to have a URL assigned to them. Which plugin would be the most compatible with Bricks, taking this into account?
