How can I make my Bricks Page Templates available in the dropdown?
It seems really complicated to apply a template to a page. Shouldn’t I just be able to pick it from the dropdown?
I have page templates like this:
Landing Page
Clean Blank
Events with calendar
Evergreen No Dates
I create many pages, and use several different templates, but to have to manually open each template and assign the new page in “conditions” seems very odd.
Am I missing an easier way to assign a template?
I was thinking of creating a custom “template type” field for pages and then when I make a page, I select it and the custom “conditions” in the template would see that custom field and apply the appropriate template but surely there must already be a simple way to select a template that I am missing?
Make sure to assign a template type to the templates. If you want to use them as archive, they must be set to archive. I’m no pro and been fighting the thing myself.
Thank you Ferry, I have set them to single, but each page still has to be manually added to the template conditions as “individual” in order to use it.
I am hoping to set the template to be used when creating the page.
(without having to go back into the template)
Yes, but the problem comes when you have several different types of page templates for different use cases.
For example, my landing pages need a template that has no header and a different footer. My event pages have a specific font for titles, dynamic date info on the top and calendars at the footer, etc.
I have many of each of those pages, and the way to have them use the correct template is to create the page in page builder, but then separatley, go into the appropriate template, add the individual pages to the ‘individual’ condition for the appropriate template.
It should be possible just to select the appropriate page template when creating the page.
Agreed, I think this assignment of templates functionality is chaotic… I have just tried to walk-through this part with a client, and they just starred at me in confusion!
Can we not assign/override a page template based on the PAGE?
