I am trying to add a navigation menu to a registered sidebar. When I attempt to save the widget, I get “There was an error. The response is not a valid json response.” How do I address this?

Adding widgets through Appearance → Widgets is the supported workflow for registered sidebars (Academy guide). I cannot confirm the cause of the save error from the message alone.
Does a simple Paragraph widget save in the same sidebar, or does it fail too? Please also share your Bricks and WordPress versions. If possible, open your browser’s developer tools → Network, try saving again, and share the failed request’s HTTP status and any error text in its Response tab, omitting private information.
