Happy to share my move from Webflow to Bricks!

Very cool! And how did you achieve the scroll effect (where they stack on each other) in the Our Processes section?

Kind regards

Thanks! Where do I paste this?

Nice work and interesting business model.

How did you implement the “lego bricks” in section “No more worrying about”? I was just playing around 2 minutes with them

nice website and a clean style!
what have been your main reasons to switch from webflow to bricks?

Both look very similar. Right now I only see reasons why to switch from bricks to webflow (no plugin or theme updates needed, which can break the site, a lot of features included where you would need 3rd party plugins at wordpress)

Hey @asweb ! Thanks for your message here. There is a lot of reasons why I am switching from Webflow to Bricks. And by switching, i don’t mean I will never use Webflow again. But this is purely a use-case scenario. I love the interactions that webflow provides and the fact that you can have truly breathtaking visual experience (Can be achieved with BRICKSFORGE btw…) Here is my case for switching to Bricks **

1. Full Control Over Hosting and Performance

  • Self-Hosting Options: With WordPress, you can choose your hosting provider, giving you greater control over performance, backups, and security. Bricks Builder, being a WordPress tool, allows you to manage everything on your own terms, while Webflow is hosted on their platform, limiting flexibility.
  • Speed Optimization: Bricks allows for more granular optimization of assets and code, enabling faster website performance compared to Webflow, which can sometimes be restrictive in this regard.

2. Cost Efficiency

  • No Monthly Fees for Hosting and CMS: Webflow charges a recurring fee depending on the tier of services you need. With Bricks Builder, once you pay for the builder and WordPress hosting, there are no additional monthly costs tied to the CMS, making it potentially more affordable over time, especially for larger or multiple sites.

3. Customization and Extensibility

  • Open Source and Extendable: WordPress is an open-source platform, meaning that you have access to thousands of plugins and themes for extending functionality. Bricks Builder takes full advantage of this ecosystem while giving you a highly customizable interface for your designs.
  • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) Integration: Bricks integrates seamlessly with powerful tools like ACF, allowing for deep customization and dynamic content options that are more advanced than Webflow’s CMS structure.

4. Developer-Friendly

  • Custom Code Flexibility: While Webflow provides limited options for adding custom code, Bricks Builder (like most WordPress tools) allows developers to fully integrate custom CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, giving you the ability to build more complex features and integrations.
  • Version Control: Since Bricks runs on WordPress, you can easily implement version control systems (like Git) for your site files, something Webflow doesn’t fully support.

5. Scalability for Complex Sites

  • Large Ecosystem: WordPress, coupled with Bricks, offers more scalability for large, content-heavy, or eCommerce websites. You can integrate WooCommerce, membership systems, LMS platforms, and more, which are areas where Webflow is either limited or requires expensive workarounds.
  • Multilingual Sites: WordPress has stronger and more flexible multilingual solutions through plugins like WPML or TranslatePress, which can be more robust than Webflow’s localization tools.

6. Freedom of Ownership

  • Data Ownership: On WordPress, you fully own your website’s data and files. Webflow, being a hosted platform, keeps your site data within their ecosystem, and you can face challenges if you ever need to export or migrate your site.
  • No Platform Lock-In: With Webflow, you’re locked into their platform, but with Bricks Builder on WordPress, you can switch hosting providers, tools, and even themes if necessary.

7. Greater Design Flexibility

  • True Visual Editing with Full Customization: Bricks Builder offers a visual editor like Webflow but with more flexibility when it comes to creating complex layouts. You can customize every aspect of your site’s look and feel without limitations, and with its fast-growing feature set, Bricks is rivaling Webflow’s design capabilities.

8. SEO and Content Management

  • Better SEO Plugins and Flexibility: WordPress has a broader range of SEO tools, such as Yoast or Rank Math, that provide more in-depth SEO features than Webflow’s built-in options. Additionally, managing SEO across large sites is often easier in WordPress.
  • Blogging and Content Capabilities: WordPress is inherently a content management system, so it excels at handling large volumes of blog posts, articles, or media. Bricks enhances this capability, making it ideal for content-driven sites, whereas Webflow’s CMS can feel limited when scaling content.
