Fluent Cart is a far superior e-commerce compared to the bloated Woocommerce, which almost always needs a whole host of plugins to make it useful.
Yes, it still needs some features, like integrations with 3rd party POS, Inventory Management systems but they’re adding features extremely often. It’s blazingly fast and highly optimised for conversions.
Better Bricks elements and expose dynamic data
Fluent Cart themselves have added some Bricks elements but they have a lot of limitations.
E.G. They do have a product archive Bricks element but the whole point of Bricks is, we can build our own custom archive, with custom cards.
Yes, you can still build a Bricks archive with card but it’s limited. When you’re building the card, they only have 1 element for Add to card, which automatically shows Quantity, Variations. It really needs individual elements. And I’ve read it has some issues with native Bricks filtering system.
Another limitation is, I don’t think they expose their data to Brick dynamic data / condition systems.
Solution:
I’m asking Bricks, please create individual elements (similar to what you did for Woocommerce) (EDIT: Or at least connect with the FluentCart team to help them work out where their existing integration falls short vs Brick’s own Woo integrations/elements). Separate Addtocart (that only does that), quantity, variation, not just 1 element for the checkout page etc. Essentially, all the elements you created for Woo, would be perfect for Fluent Cart.
Please expose Fluent Carts data to Brick’s dynamic data system (to be fair, I checked this a few months ago but I assume it still doesn’t work)
(Before anyone says, yes, I know there’s a 3rd party plugin that adds these elements but this would be much better in core Bricks…I don’t need yet another plugin to update and be prone to hack attacks)
I think this needs to be handled from the FluentCart side as well. Also, FluentCart recently added a Single Product Template option for BricksBuilder users.
If you follow your logic, Bricks should have waited for Woocommerce to add the granular elements we now have.
Yes, Fluent has added some integration but it’s not as granular and fully featured to what I’d have if I was building a Woo site.
I think Bricks dev team just needs to reach out to the Fluent Cart team and agree on a plan. I don’t care which side makes the full set of elements but if we just hope Fluent Cart will add them, we’ll probably be waiting for a long time.
This is the only thing holding my digital agency back from fully switching to Fluent Cart. I’m sure many other agencies are in the same situation.
FluentCart has released 1.5.4, which has more Bricks elements but it’s still way short of what I have using Woo in Bricks (just 1 my account element, so I can’t build a complete custom my account; just 1 checkout element, unlike Bricks’ Woo solution of multiple elements; limited dynamic data options etc)
Has anyone here running an agency using Bricks, switched from Woo to Fluent Cart? What are the main areas you feel the integration is lacking?
That’s not my logic—that’s simply how WooCommerce and FluentCart work. You can’t really compare the two.
WooCommerce has been on the market for over 13 years and is an Automattic product, which also develops and maintains WordPress directly and indirectly.
The reason so many page builders, including BricksBuilder, offer granular WooCommerce elements is because WooCommerce provides extensive filters, hooks, and endpoints for developers. FluentCart is still very new and hasn’t been widely adopted yet.
As I mentioned in my last comment, this is something that should be added by the FluentCart team. In fact, to prove the point, FluentCart recently released version 1.5.4, which includes granular BricksBuilder elements. That shows these features need to be implemented by FluentCart itself, not by third-party developers.
I see your point. I already mentioned FluentCart 1.5.4. There’s no point in us going back and fourth.
As I already said, I don’t care who add these features, I (and a lot of other web designers) just want them added. My main goal here was to light a fire, to get Bricks dev attention; maybe they can connect with the Fluentcart team, maybe FluentCart already has the reminding/missing integration on their roadmap.
My concern is; FluentCart feel they’ve already done enough. Then we’re left in limbo, with an incomplete integration > end result sub standard e-commerce sites.
