I believe you have to insert the image here in the wordpress dashboard:
appearance → customise → site identity
I have done that but still not displaying it. Could it be problem with google indexing? Or the size of the favicon
hmm yeah could be, maybe try having a look in google search console and see if it shows up there. might be a caching issue or an indexing issue
